The affordable housing lottery has launched for 30 Kent Street, an 11-story mixed-use building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects, the structure yields 80 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 24 units for residents at 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $51,463 to $167,570.

Amenities include pet-friendly policies, a dog washing station, a garage with assigned parking spaces, a shared laundry room, gym, yoga and dance studio, party room, business center, on-site resident manager, common area Wi-Fi, virtual doorman, elevator, and numerous green spaces including a rooftop terrace. Units come equipped with name-brand appliances and finishes, air conditioning, hardwood floors, high-speed internet, energy-efficient appliances, dishwashers, washers and dryers, and private outdoor space either a patio or balcony.

At 80 percent of the AMI, there is one studio with a monthly rent of $1,437 for incomes ranging from $51,463 to $76,400; two one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,542 for incomes ranging from $55,338 to $85,920; and three two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,862 for incomes ranging from $67,029 to $103,120.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are three studios with a monthly rent of $1,950 for incomes ranging from $66,858 to $124,150; four studios with a monthly rent of $2,300 for incomes ranging from $75,429 to $124,150; four one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,700 for incomes ranging from $92,572 to $139,620; and seven two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,235 for incomes ranging from $110,915 to $167,570.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than February 19, 2022.

Yeah these are ripoff rates and they talk about Affordable..those rates will run poor people out the door and out the city fast..they are do audacious and bold with their elevated prices..give me the 2007 Brooklyn prices…this is a major ripoff…like they say it is a lottery..and the poor almost never hits the lotto

  6. Thank you for offering lottery to NYK’ers in these income levels. Where NYCHA projects are not available
    Other housing is beyond many New Yorkers 40% earning criteria. The alternative for many in this income level is moving out of NYC and facing a long daily commute! NYCHA presently developing several new projects and large renos so look for more affordable housing also.
