Construction is now underway at 57 Alexander Street, a new seven-story residential development in Yonkers. The property is the latest development by Rose Associates in the area and will comprise 440 rental apartments with at least 10 percent designated as affordable housing units.
Designed by Perkins Eastman, the residential competent will comprise a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom homes. The project will also include 25,000 square feet of amenities including a landscaped public esplanade with access to the Hudson River, an outdoor heated swimming pool, a fitness center, a golf simulator, a communal lounge and game room, coworking spaces, and a roof terrace with barbecues, dining areas, and shared seating.
“The property location with sweeping views of the Hudson River and Palisades offered us incredible design opportunities for the amenity-rich building,” said Carl Ordemann, principal and director at Perkins Eastman.
Residents will also have access to an enclosed parking garage designed to accommodate 443 vehicles.
“Callahan is proud to be a part of this vibrant project,” said David Morrow, director of New York Operations at Callahan, the project’s general contractor. “This development will contribute to the growth of the community along the Hudson by offering a lifestyle and transit-oriented living experience just minutes from the waterfront district.”
The project will be completed in multiple phases, the first set to debut in 2023.
