Construction is nearing completion on 434-446 Clinton Avenue, a row of seven low-rise townhouses in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Marvel Architects and developed by The Loketch Group, the properties will yield around 4,000 square feet apiece and also include private parking. R&S Contracting NY Inc. is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Gates and Greene Avenues.

Recent photos show façade work largely complete on the row of brick-clad structures, whose ground floors are obscured by the tall construction fence.

The following close-up shots show the details in the brick envelopes, which feature a variety of running bond patterns. The earth-toned homes’ brick is laid both horizontally and vertically, while the gray-clad structures feature bricks that subtly protrude from around their grids of recessed windows. A gently curved arch will rest atop the front door and adjacent window on all the buildings.

434-446 Clinton Avenue was formerly occupied by a mansion that was home to a Christian organization called Adult & Teen Challenge. The land was sold to 444 Clinton LLC for $17,000,000 in July 2019.

Surrounding the property are two Clinton-Washington Avenue subway stations; one servicing the G train to the north along Lafayette Avenue and the A and C trains to the south along Fulton Street.

434-446 Clinton Avenue is anticipated to be finished next winter, as noted on the construction board.

Bricks are so hot in material buildings, from these conditions on brick progress. I think shapes are beautiful, that having similar interests but colors: Thanks to Michael Young.

Even a minimal cornice would help, otherwise these look like they’re from the 70s.

  3. The as-built brick colors are a huge improvement over the renderings. I’m curious about the access to the private parking. Will it be across the sidewalk or is there a back alley?

    • I agree the brickwork looks good but I agree with the comment that some sort of cornice or projection would really set these off and minimize the 70s nadir modernism aesthetic.

  4. Will this property by affordable once again it
    Probably be for high earners.

  5. Love this
