Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 1889 Atlantic Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Ralph Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, the corner lot is two blocks south of the Ralph Avenue subway station, serviced by the C train. The Jay Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 90-foot-tall development will yield 60,617 square feet, with 55,787 square feet designated for residential space and 4,829 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 80 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 697 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, six open parking spaces, and 26 enclosed parking spaces.

JFA Architects & Engineers is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed last month for the single-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

Sad I tell you, New York is so far ahead of itself and everyone loves the idea of “new” things as they slowly push out what made new york what I was born into cultural diversity, something I see less and less of. Well then I’m older now and moving away from the city I will always love of course. This place has become somewhat robotic and stale to me.

    • I totally agree. There ia a lack of vibrancy here now. I’ve been feeling this way about NYC for years now.

Never in my life have I heard a NYer bemoan the loss of an outer borough gas station as though it was an iconic piece of city architecture…

  2. Another gas station bites the dust
