The affordable housing lottery has launched for 167-171 Chrystie Street, a 16-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by ODA Architects and developed by Be-Aviv and Nexus Building Development Group, the structure yields 78 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 20 units for residents at 40 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $24,789 to $139,620.
Amenities includes pet-friendly policies, a second-story lounge, bike storage lockers, resident storage, a shared laundry room, elevator, doorman, on-site resident manager, gym, spa, and rooftop terrace. Units include name-brand appliances and finishes, energy-efficient appliances, and a patio or balcony.
At 40 percent of the AMI, there are five studios with a monthly rent of $677 for incomes ranging from $26,160 to $38,200; one studio with a monthly rent of $723 for incomes ranging from $24,789 to $38,200; and two one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $725 for incomes ranging from $28,218 to $42,960.
At 60 percent of the AMI, there are six one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,125 for incomes ranging from $41,932 to $64,440 and two two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,362 for incomes ranging from $51,155 to $77,340.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are two studios with a monthly rent of $2,514 for incomes ranging from $86,195 to $124,150 and two one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,689 for incomes ranging from $92,195 to $139,620.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than May 23, 2022.
