Permits have been filed for a seven-story commercial building at 156 Bowery in Nolita, Manhattan. Located between Kenmare and Broome Streets, the lot is in walking distance of the Bowery subway station, serviced by the J and Z and the Grand Street subway station, serviced by the B and D trains. Real Estate Equities under the REEC Third Avenue LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 85-foot-tall development will yield 72,441 square feet for commercial space. The structure will most likely be used as a life science building with wet and dry labs and office space. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar.
Perkins + Will Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed last June for seven low rise residential buildings between 156-166 Bowery. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
