Work is progressing below grade for the Hudson Arts Building, a ten-story commercial structure at 220 Eleventh Avenue in West Chelsea. Designed by STUDIOS Architecture and developed by The Moinian Group, the project is located along Eleventh Avenue between West 25th Street and West 26th Streets. 220 Eleventh, LLC is the owner, AECOM Tishman is the general contractor, and JLL is the exclusive leasing agent for the Midtown, Manhattan property.
It appeared that groundbreaking was imminent at the time of our last update in June 2020, but the site continued to sit dormant until recently. Recent photos show excavation in full swing, with numerous pieces of machinery at work across the plot.
The Hudson Yards skyline can be seen to the north from West 25th Street and will be much more visible from the upper floors of the office complex once construction gets off the ground.
It appears that the overall architectural design for The Hudson Arts Building remains the same, with a prismatic floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall. The building will offer column-free floor spans ranging from 17,500 to 25,000 square feet with ceiling heights over 17 feet, and a select number of office suites will feature outdoor terraces. An 11,000-square-foot roof deck will sit on top of the structure. Other amenities for 220 Eleventh Avenue include ground-floor bathing areas with showers, lockers, bicycle storage, and refill stations for bicycle tires. A retail component is also planned.
220 Eleventh Avenue is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2024.
