Exterior work is nearing completion on 171 North 1st Street, a seven-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Gemini Rosemont under the North First Street LLC, the 70-foot-tall structure will yield 59 units spread across 49,802 square feet as well as 29 enclosed parking spaces. Broadway Construction Group is the general contractor of the property, which is located between Bedford and Driggs Avenues.
Recent photos show the main southern elevation largely clad in its façade of corrugated metal paneling surrounding a grid of recessed floor-to-ceiling windows. The roof line features two extensions with sloped edges, where some exterior work is still finishing up. The ground floor is also awaiting completion behind green construction fencing.

Gemini Rosemont purchased the property for $18.2 million in April 2020 and proceeded to demolish the one-story garage that occupied the site later that year. The groundbreaking for the new building occurred in the spring of 2021.
Homes will come in studio to three-bedrooms layouts, as well as a seventh-floor penthouse and three townhouses. Amenities include a fitness center, a lounge, a children’s playroom, a storage room, a shared laundry room, and a landscaped rooftop deck.
The closest subway from 171 North 1st Street is the L train at the Bedford Avenue subway station. Nearby are a number of shops, cafes, and a Whole Foods Market and Trader Joes on the northside of Metropolitan Avenue. The East River waterfront is a 10-minute walk away to the west.
171 North 1st Street is anticipated to be completed this December, as noted on the construction board.
