The affordable housing lottery has launched for 2057 Strauss Street, a four-story residential building in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Designed by Tecnico Engineering and developed by Chaim Sobel of Strauss Estates LLC, the structure yields nine residences including a penthouse. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $75,429 to $156,130.
Amenities include pet-friendly policies, a shared laundry room, and rooftop terrace. Residences come equipped with name-brand kitchen appliances, hardwood floors, smart controls for heating and cooling, energy-efficient appliances, and patios or balconies. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are three one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,200 for incomes ranging from $75,429 to $156,130.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than December 30, 2022.
