Number 30 on our year-end countdown of the tallest projects underway in the city is the Virgin Hotel New York City, a 38-story hotel tower at 1227 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall structure yields 460 boutique guest rooms managed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group. Flintlock Construction Systems was the general contractor for the property, which is located along Broadway between West 29th and West 30th Streets.
Finishing touches have wrapped up since our last update in late August, and the remaining sections of sidewalk scaffolding have been removed from the site. The only remnants of exterior work are the orange and white barricades, which should be removed from the sidewalk in the coming days as the property prepares to welcome its first guests.
The main entrance is located along West 30th Street underneath a partially cantilevering section of the multi-story podium.
Newmark is in charge of leasing the available ground-floor retail space, which totals 2,404 square feet with 100 feet of wraparound frontage and 20-foot ceiling spans.
Guest amenities include a fourth-floor outdoor rooftop space called The Pool Club, the Sky Loft Lounge with 30-foot-high ceilings and a connecting outdoor terrace on the 38th floor, the Sky Lounge on the 39th floor with a capacity of 100 guests, numerous meeting spaces, and EVERDENE, a 4,000-square-foot restaurant on the third floor with an indoor-outdoor setup with three pergolas. There is also a fitness center equipped with Technogym cardio machines.
Currently, the only portion of the property open to the public is the 22,000-square-foot mini golf franchise “Swingers: The Crazy Golf Club.” The doors are located along West 29th Street under the striped blue and white awning.
The nearest subways are the R and W trains at the 28th Street station. Also nearby is the 1 train to the west at 28th Street and Seventh Avenue and the B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, W, and PATH trains to the north at the 34th Street-Herald Square station.
Virgin Hotels’ website allows early booking for stays from February 1, 2023.

Main points and important lanes for looking at the newness of the tower with a shiny glass, may not grow or expand like a tree that spreads its branches without direction. Standing straight up was suitable to build dozens of floors, grand opening is coming on prominent center corner: Thanks to Michael Young.
Feeling very poetic today David
His words somehow are always the most beautifully egnimatic commentary and still don’t know to this day who, what, or where David is
Design overall is pretty nice, some clunky moments but have to say it looks spot on to the rendering which is impressive. Will definitely have to visit and check it out.
I know I’m surprised too how close of a match this turned out to be. Can’t wait to see this finally open!
Waiting for “guesser” to come in with an ignorant and racist comment LOL
It’s a mix of mediocrity and curiosity. That’s my take.
Nice design, looks too top heavy, But I hope, they get tourists , with the way crime is in City…Good Luck.
He should have built this in Miami, guess it was too late
Bizarre. Not repulsive bizarre though. It is high quality but the massing in context with the neighborhood is like a square peg in a round hole. Facade elements neither turn me on or turn me off. Im kind of indifferent to the whole thing. Does this actually speak to anyone?
It actually works, but it needs to be in context with the older buildings
I gotta say the fact that the ground level spaces are still vacant makes it seem like the building still isn’t ready. You have to look up to the higher floors to realize the hotel is nearly ready to go. Also good to see this one opening–it’s been a building that’s been under construction since I started working in Manhattan over 6 1/2 years ago.
the building is beutifull the contruction is amazing that hotel is going to inclerible
