Construction is nearing topping out on 8-29 Astoria Boulevard, a six-story mixed-use building in Astoria, Queens. Designed by Angelo Ng & Anthony Ng Architects Studio and developed by Rukhsana Samdani of Astoria Boulevard Construction, the 58-foot-tall structure will span 58,619 square feet and yield 47 rental units with an average scope of 691 square feet, as well as 5,527 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and 32 enclosed parking spaces. DLC Development Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is situated on an interior lot between 8th and 12th Streets.

Recent photographs show the superstructure built past the halfway mark with a boom pumping concrete to the top floor. The latest levels are bolstered with formwork and metal shoring to aid in their settling. No finalized rendering has been released for 8-29 Astoria Boulevard, though several balconies are visible on the main southern elevation. These will likely be surrounded by a grid of floor-to-ceiling windows with either brick or metal paneling covering the rest of the walls.

The below photographs show the rear elevation of the building, which has already topped out at five stories. This face has been largely framed out with CMU blocks, creating the grid of square and rectangular windows.

Crews don’t sit and drink coffee in an air-conditioned room, from the nature of work that is done: Thanks to Michael Young.
