Permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 51-09 2nd Street in Long Island City, Queens. Located between 51st Avenue and Borden Avenue, the lot is near the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Daniel Kaykov of Giron Contracting Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 45-foot-tall development will yield 11,896 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have nine units, most likely condos based on the average scope of 1,321 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 13 enclosed parking spaces.
Paul Lombardi of Design Studio Associates is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed earlier this month for the two-story brick building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

This is guaranteed to be hideous.
Why on earth does this have more parking spots than units? Two blocks from a one-stop ride to GCT and close to the ferry. Embarrassing that NYC continues to allow this sort of nonsense. Didn’t EA just have a little sound bite about housing for people, not cars?
not just allow, NYC requires off street parking like we’re still living in the Robert Moses era
What? ONLY five stories??
In the “City of Yes”?
We need to make it 500,
on the winding road to a New Calcutta.
Will rickshaws be charged in the “Congestion Zones”?
Inquiring minds want to know.
