Revel, a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, recently announced plans to develop the largest public EV fast charging station by an airport in the US. The station will be located at 90-10 Ditmars Boulevard in East Elmhurst, Queens, near LaGuardia Airport, and is being built in partnership with Barone Management.
The new charging station will comprise of 48 200kW charging stalls, accessible from Ditmars Boulevard and 90th Street. The location’s proximity to the airport’s for-hire vehicle waiting area is designed to make it convenient for ride-share drivers transitioning to electric vehicles under New York City’s Green Rides Initiative, which mandates the electrification of ride-share vehicles by 2030.
Revel currently operates three public fast charging stations in New York City and has an active pipeline to add up to 500 more EV chargers in the city and the Bay Area through 2025. The company has seen a tenfold increase in public utilization of its fast charging stations since the implementation of the Green Rides Initiative in October 2023.
“This is precisely the kind of critical infrastructure investment we need to support the ongoing electrification of our fleet and the city as a whole,” said Taxi & Limousine Commissioner David Do. “LaGuardia is one of the largest staging areas for TLC’s hardworking drivers, who travel to and from the airport every day as they connect New Yorkers and visitors to the rest of the world. Now our drivers will be able charge up right next to the hold lot. On behalf of Mayor Adams and the TLC, thank you Frank Reig and Revel for responding to the Green Rides challenge, and for your commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable city.”

I see these figures in space on specific spots, there’s a competitor between the bright fluorescent lights and EV: Thanks.
