School of Rock, a music education school, signed a 3,000-square-foot lease at 300 Huntington Street, a commercial property in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The project, which recently completed construction, was led by Monadnock Development and was designed in collaboration between Dattner Architects and Bernheimer Architecture. School of Rock plans to occupy the space with an interactive music education center by summer 2024.
300 Huntington spans 136,000 square feet across six stories and includes a new waterfront esplanade designed by SCAPE Landscape Architecture that connects to the Gowanus public waterfront park. The building design features 13-foot ceilings and large windows to maximize natural light. School of Rock’s space at 300 Huntington will feature nine lesson rooms and three larger rehearsal studios.
“After a decade in the neighborhood, School of Rock is continuing its journey at 300 Huntington as the ideal space for our next phase of expansion and growth,” said Bob Jones, owner and director of operations at School of Rock New York and School of Rock Brooklyn. “We are eager to return to full operation at 300 Huntington, fostering a relationship with music for students of all ages.”
The property is located a short walk from the F and G trains at the Smith-9th Streets station, and steps from a number of bus lines, including the B57 and B61.
