This was the venerable Lum’s, an early Chinese restaurant in Flushing. It subsequently became a Korean place being east of the ethnic divide at Union St. However, this was torn down some time ago and new construction is well underway.

    • Oh, how I remember Lum’s as a little boy in the early ’50s growing up in Fresh Meadows; we made the schlep. The absolute finest noodles, fried rice, spare ribs, and delicacies anywhere, including in the “City.” Flash forward decades to when my wife and I moved to Woodbury, LI and had our daughter at North Shore Hospital. What did my wife want for a special treat? I went and got it. PS. Remember the one-car width driveway into the parking lot to get in and out of Lum’s’ rear parking lot?

  2. Everyone remembers that one car width parking lot. Considering cars were big at that time – it was amazing we got thru. Great restaurant. Great food.
