Fujian restaurant Nin Hao has signed a lease to occupy 1,890 square feet on the ground floor of 595 Dean Street, a two-tower residential development in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. The restaurant’s interior was designed by Plan Plan and integrates traditional Chinese design with modern elements, featuring a 16-foot-tall dining area, an aquarium, and art installations.
595 Dean Street is owned by TF Cornerstone and was designed by Handel Architects. It yields 798 rental apartments and 60,000 square feet of public green space, and is part of the Pacific Park development.
Nin Hao aims to showcase Fujianese cuisine, a lesser-known style of Chinese cooking, through a mix of traditional dishes and modern interpretations.
“We’re happy to work with TF Cornerstone on this exciting deal, which marks our first brick and mortar location in the neighborhood,” said Evan Toretto Li, Nin Hao’s founder. “We look forward to bringing underrepresented Fujian cuisine, creative programming, and more to residents of 595 Dean Street and the local community.”
The restaurant is set to open on September 14.
