Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into a six-story residential building at 185 Tompkins Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located between Hart Street and Pulaski Street, the lot is near the Myrtle-Wiloughbys Avenues subway station, serviced by the G train. Henny Kohn of Super K Builders is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 70-foot-tall development will yield 10,912 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,364 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar but no accessory parking.
Gladmore Mwandiambira of Baobab Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
