Permits Filed for 611 53rd Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into a five-story residential building at 611 53rd Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Located between 6th and 7th Avenues, the lot is near the 53rd Street subway station, serviced by the R train. Ming Wei Lu is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 65-foot-tall development will yield 5,096 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have seven residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 728 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar for commercial space, and a 35.5-foot-long rear yard.

Alexander Jimenez of Jimenez Building Consulting is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical and horizontal expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
