Excavation Prep Underway at 176 Frost Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Excavation is set to begin at 176 Frost Street, the site of a four-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Infocus for URD 176 Frost LLC, the 50-foot-tall structure will span 10,536 square feet and yield seven condominium units with an average scope of 1,505 square feet, including a penthouse unit. The property is located between Humboldt Street and Graham Avenue.

Recent photos show the interior lot cleared from the demolition of the two-story residential building from 1899 that formerly occupied it. The structure was razed by the end of 2024, and a lone excavator sits on the leveled plot awaiting the start of below-grade work.

The rendering in the main photo depicts a distinctive design with a red brick arch surrounding industrial-style windows with black mullions and spandrels on the eastern half of the main northern elevation. The surface at the top of the building above the arch incorporates a series of vertical cutouts in the brickwork, adding depth to the façade. The opposite western half of the Frost Street profile features a stack of recessed balconies lined with black metal railings, and the building culminates in a flat parapet topped with a landscaped roof deck. A small fenced-in front lawn will sit beside the main entrance.

The nearest subway from the development site is the L train at the Graham Avenue station to the south.

176 Frost Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for February 2026, as noted on site.

  1. Nice design, truly, but pay millions for a penthouse where you can watch the BQE roll by, and listen to semis honking haha

  2. The only part I like is the arched window, but is still a good overall design

From my distance learning I would like to encourage, the excavator to not run out of gas while it’s working: Thanks.
