Construction is nearing completion on 498 Humboldt Street, a four-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Design Studio Associates and developed by Investment Property Realty Group, the 4,488-square-foot structure will yield two condominium units. The property owner 498 Humboldt LLC purchased the plot for $1.9 million in November 2023. The site is located between Herbert Street to the north and Richardson Street to the south.
Recent photographs show the look of the façade, which is composed of charcoal-hued brick in a mix of textured bond patterns, including checkerboard formations under the grid of recessed windows. The lot line walls are largely blank and finished in a smooth concrete surface that matches the color of the brick on the main elevation, and the structure culminates in a flat parapet with a bulkhead extension on the southern edge. Some work is still finishing up on the ground floor, which is obscured by wooden construction fencing.
The property was formerly occupied by a two-story mixed-use building, as seen in the below image from before its demolition.
The nearest subway from the development is the L train at the Graham Avenue station to the south.
498 Humboldt Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for April 2025, as noted on site.

Nice to use the brick pattern to appear as shingles, in respect to the neighborhood
I love it!! This building and the ones on either side need to be featured on HideousBuildings.com – A website in my mind. I just love that the developers said, “well what would be THE most hideous design we could put up?” And succeeded.
Built with the neighbors in mind, so this brick color will stand out when exposed to light: Thanks.
