Trylon Tower has reached completion at 98-81 Queens Boulevard in Rego Park, Queens. Developed by RJ Capital Holdings and designed by SLCE Architects, the 16-story rental building yields 170 units and takes inspiration from New York City’s Art Deco past, particularly paying homage to the former Trylon Theatre, which opened in 1939 for the World’s Fair.

Apartments are offered in one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus alcove, two-bedroom, two-bedroom plus alcove, and three-bedroom configurations. Residents have access to amenities including a rooftop sky club with an indoor lounge and billiards area, a fitness center, and a fifth-floor terrace with pergolas, barbecue facilities, and lounge seating. Additional features include a full-time doorman, ButterflyMX virtual entry system, on-site parking, bicycle storage, and a pet wash station.

    The theater was named after the famous Trylon and Perisphere structures at the fair located on the site of the present Unisphere. These were striking and represented in all manner of souvenirs. Alas, they were only temporary being made of plasterboard on a steel frame.

    It’s a really decent design, although the upper tower is a bit flat.
    Queens Boulevard is more like a highway and really needs a greener redesign.

  3. Should be taller. All these QB developments should be taller. We really should be seeing 30 floors as a minimum height.

  4. Wow, this building significantly raised the standard for buildings along Queens Boulevard. Hopefully other new buildings will follow suit.
