Permits have been filed for a 13-story mixed-use building at 2978 Ocean Parkway in West Brighton, Brooklyn. Located between Neptune Avenue and West Brighton Avenue, the lot is steps from the Ocean Parkway subway station, served by the Q train. Robert Dadona of Rocklyn Asset Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 125-foot-tall development will yield 131,610 square feet, with 113,446 square feet designated for residential space and 18,164 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 99 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,145 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, 77 open parking spaces, and 80 enclosed parking spaces.

Menzak Architect is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

    Judging by the Parish’s website, this development is going to take place on either the Parking Lot (seen in the photo) or a large grassy area on the other side.

  2. Hope they build in the parking lot. We are losing too many churches to ugly developments.

  3. They are knocking this church down …, why? Yes an apartment bldg with out of control rents is a much better idea, yes for the builder, the architect , and the owner sad. .

  4. Better a building with our of control rents than a church with out of control priests.

  5. Based upon the address this development appears to be on lot 30 which covers the greeenspace to the south of the church. I don’t think there will be any demolition of the church unless they are planning on attaching the new building to parish house or existing church.
