New permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 1187 Ocean Avenue in Midwood, Brooklyn. Located between Glenwood Road and Farragut Road, the lot is near the Newkirk Plaza subway station, served by the B and Q trains. Samuel Klein is listed as the owner behind the applications. Previous owners filed permits for a nine-story mixed-use development.
The proposed 70-foot-tall development will yield 18,009 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 26 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 692 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.
Amr Ouda of Jay Architect & Engineering is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
