Permits have been filed for a ten-story mixed-use building at 5099 Broadway in Inwood, Manhattan. Also addressed as 500 West 218th Street, the corner lot is two blocks north from the 215th Street subway station, served by the 1 train. Charles Wurzberger of Candor Capital One LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 114-foot-tall development will yield 69,184 square feet, with 59,905 square feet designated for residential space and 9,278 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 83 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 721 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, penthouse, a second-floor rooftop terrace, a 31-foot-long rear yard, and 22 enclosed parking spaces.
JFA Architects & Engineers is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed last month for the one-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

What is there to miss about an auto shop? It’s not like it was part of the City Beautiful movement from the 1800’s.
