Excavation is underway on The Arden, a forthcoming five-story residential building at 100 Dickson Street in Glen Cove, Long Island. Designed by BHC Architects and developed by RXR and Chuo-Nittochi Group, the 143,860-square-foot structure will yield 101 rental apartments with an average scope of 980 square feet. The project will also include 2,400 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and is part of the $1.3 billion MPFP-designed Garvies Point master plan. The Arden will rise northwest of a roundabout where Dickson Street and Herb Hill Road intersect.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday, February 2 with members of the development team present.
The exterior renderings in the main photo and below show the building clad in a mix of red brick and black and gray paneling, and a grid of windows with black metal spandrels and mullions. Balconies will protrude from multiple elevations of the building, and landscaping will surround the property.
The following map outlines the Garvies Point master plan.
The residential inventory at The Arden will be divided into 12 studios, 36 one-bedrooms, 45 two-bedrooms, and eight three-bedrooms. Indoor amenities will span 7,750 square feet and include a lounge and a wellness lounge. There will also be an 8,300-square-foot outdoor terrace with a courtyard, a pergola, fire pit, swimming pool, and grilling stations. Other amenities include an attended lobby, bicycle storage, 94 covered parking spots, 72 outdoor parking spots, EV charging, a walking trail leading to the Garvies Point Preserve, and outdoor patio seating for the retail space.
Garvies Point, formerly called Glen Isle, is a 52-acre mixed-use waterfront community being built on a former brownfield site. The master plan is designed by MPFP and is set to yield 1,100 homes in a mix of rental and for-sale residences, as well as retail space. The Arden will join two existing structures: the 385-unit Harbor Landing and the 146-unit Village Square. The complex also features a 1.1-mile waterfront esplanade, marinas, restaurants with outdoor dining, a dog park, and over 28 acres of open green space and public parks.
“The Arden reflects our shared commitment to thoughtful development that strengthens our waterfront, creates jobs, expands housing opportunities, and enhances quality of life for our residents,” said Glen Cove Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck in the statement. “We are proud to support projects like this that demonstrate continued investment in our city and help shape a vibrant, walkable community that will benefit Glen Cove for generations to come.”
Move-ins at The Arden are scheduled for February 2027, while full completion is slated for July 2027, according to a news release from Chuo-Nittochi Group last August.

A rather traditional looking building. I first thought it was a converted commercial structure.
Love the industrial look!
Looks like a turbine hall.
It’s different, that’s for sure.
I’d much rather see this than some tacky 5 over 1 with a half dozen different facade materials to “break up” the “design.”
Very nice design. Long Island really needs to step up with adding housing, especially along LIRR corridors. This project is a good start.
Handsome brick design and looks great!
Looks like a castle on the tail ends of the building. Nice design for the area
