Agreement Reached To Preserve Rent Protection At Gateway Plaza In Battery Park City, Manhattan

Battery Park City Authority and local elected officials have reached an agreement with LeFrak and its partners, the Olnick Organization and Fisher Development, doing business as Marina Towers Associates, to preserve rent protections for about 430 units at Gateway Plaza in Battery Park City, Manhattan. The deal extends protections that had been set to expire in July 2030 through June 17, 2069, covering residents who have remained in continuous occupancy since July 1, 2009 and maintain their primary residence in New York State.

Located between East 239th Street and East 240th Street, the lot is near the Wakefield-241st Street subway station, served by the 2 train. Tom Eswein of Vertical Community Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.

New Rendering Reveals 1933 Lafayette Avenue in Unionport, The Bronx

A new rendering reveals 1933 Lafayette Avenue, a forthcoming 22-story residential building in Unionport, The Bronx. Designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning and developed by Dimitrios Katehis of HP Park Lane Family HDFC, Inc., the structure will rise 226 feet tall and yield a total of 154,600 square feet designated for residential space. Inside will be 207 rental units averaging 746 square feet, as well as a cellar level, 45 open parking spaces, and 61 enclosed parking spaces. The property is bounded by Lafayette Avenue to the south, White Plains Road to the west, Turbull Avenue to the north, and the adjacent 14-story 1940 Turbull Avenue to the northeast.

HELP Women’s Center Opens At 114 Snediker Avenue In East New York, Brooklyn

HELP USA, Camber Property Group, and the New York City Department of Social Services have opened HELP Women’s Center at 114 Snediker Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn. The five-story, 60,000-square-foot facility will begin operations on March 30, serving as a 200-bed intake and assessment center for women entering the shelter system. The project was developed by Camber Property Group, built by Fifth Avenue Builders in partnership with Urban Atelier Group, and designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects in collaboration with HELP USA.

Housing Lottery Launches at 2700 Atlantic Avenue in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 2700 Atlantic Avenue, a 14-story mixed-use building in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn. Designed by Peter Pizzimenti and developed by Joel Schwartz under the 2700 Atlantic LLC, the structure yields 227 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 60 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $35,692 to $175,000.
