Scaffolding Removal Begins On The Flatiron Building in Manhattan’s Flatiron District

Construction is steadily progressing on the Flatiron Building, the iconic landmark which is currently undergoing an office-to-residential conversion by Studio Sofield in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. SLCE Architects serving as the executive architect for the project, which is being led by the development team of the Brodsky Organization, GFP Real Estate, and Sorgente Group. Inside will be 38 condominium units in three- to five-bedroom layouts marketed by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. The 124-year old structure is located at the confluence of Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and East 23rd Streets.

Mayor Mamdani Announces Launch Of Neighborhood Builders Fast Track

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, Deputy Mayor Leila Bozorg, and HPD Commissioner Dina Levy have announced the new Neighborhood Builders Fast Track, a program intended to speed affordable housing development on City-owned land across New York City. The initiative will allow HPD to pre-qualify affordable housing developers and shorten the Request for Proposals process by about eight months for certain projects, cutting the developer selection timeline by nearly half. City officials said the first three sites slated for the program are 784-800 Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn, 1337 Jerome Avenue in the Bronx, and 109-43 Farmers Boulevard in Queens.

Housing Lottery Launches for 773 East 183 Street in Belmont, The Bronx

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 773 East 183 Street, an eight-story residential building in Belmont, The Bronx. Designed by Victor M. Torres and developed by David Lumaj & Vjollca Lumaj, the structure yields 34 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are seven units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $75,840 to $116,640.

Permits Filed for 1084 Pacific Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a 13-story mixed-use building at 1084 Pacific Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Classon Avenue and Franklin Avenue, the interior lot is near the Franklin Avenue subway station, served by the A and C trains. Joseph Banda of Ranco Capital LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Facade Installation Begins At 275 Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

Construction is quickly progressing on the 15-story jail complex at 275 Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by HOK and developed by the NYC Department of Design and Construction, the 339-foot-tall structure will span 712,150 square feet with a capacity of 1,040 inmates. The project will also include 30,000 square feet of community facility space, two cellar levels, two loading berths, 100 enclosed parking spaces, and an underground tunnel connecting to the adjacent courthouse. The redevelopment will replace the defunct Brooklyn Detention Complex and is bounded by Atlantic Avenue, Boerum Place, and Smith and State Streets.
