Scaffolding Removal Begins On The Flatiron Building in Manhattan’s Flatiron District

Construction is steadily progressing on the Flatiron Building, the iconic landmark which is currently undergoing an office-to-residential conversion by Studio Sofield in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. SLCE Architects serving as the executive architect for the project, which is being led by the development team of the Brodsky Organization, GFP Real Estate, and Sorgente Group. Inside will be 38 condominium units in three- to five-bedroom layouts marketed by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. The 124-year old structure is located at the confluence of Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and East 23rd Streets.

Exterior work is progressing 20W15, a ten-story residential building at 20 West 15th Street in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Designed by INPUT who did the facade and interiors, and JCA serving as the architect of record, and developed by Askel America, the structure will yield nine condominium units. The property is located mid-block between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

10W17 Begins Construction at 10 West 17th Street in Flatiron District, Manhattan

Excavation and pilings are getting underway for 10W17, a 17-story residential building at 10 West 17th Street within the Ladies’ Mile Historic District in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Designed by DXA Studio and developed by Prosper Property Group, the 185-foot-tall structure will yield 34 condominium units in one- to three-bedroom layouts, including a set of duplex penthouses. The project will also include more than 2,000 square feet of amenities. The property is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

Storefront Renovation Proposed For 636 Sixth Avenue In Flatiron, Manhattan

A proposal has been submitted to the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) for alterations to 636 Sixth Avenue in the Ladies’ Mile Historic District in Flatiron, Manhattan. Led by Health Center, Inc. with architecture and design services provided by Gensler, the proposal seeks approval for updates to the building’s storefront and entryways. The property is located between West 19th and 20th Streets.

Rendering Revealed for Flatiron Building’s Residential Conversion in Flatiron District, Manhattan

A new rendering has been revealed for the Flatiron Building, the iconic landmark namesake of Manhattan’s Flatiron District. The image depicts the planned nighttime illumination scheme for the 123-year-old structure, which is currently undergoing an office-to-residential conversion designed by Studio Sofield with SLCE Architects serving as the executive architect. The multi-year renovation is being led by the development team of the Brodsky Organization, and Sorgente Group. The property is located at the confluence of Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and East 23rd Streets.

‘Louie’ Tops Out at 21 West 17th Street and 16 West 18th Street in Flatiron District, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on Louie, a two-building residential development at 21 West 17th Street and 16 West 18th Street in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Designed by Vikatos Architect and developed by Vinbaytel Development, the complex will yield 21 full-floor condominium units, all in three-bedroom layouts. The properties are located on a narrow interior lot between West 17th and West 18th Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

One Madison Avenue Wraps Up Construction in Flatiron District, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on One Madison Avenue, a 27-story commercial building in the Flatiron District. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by SL Green, the National Pension Service of Korea, and Hines, the project involves the gut renovation of an existing eight-story structure and the construction of a new 19-story glass-clad addition above the original roof parapet, and will yield 1.4 million square feet of office space and ground-floor retail space. The property occupies a full city block at the southeast corner of Madison Square Park between Madison Avenue, Park Avenue South, East 23rd Street, and East 24th Street.
