Permits have been filed for a five-story mixed-use building at 1457 53rd Street in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Located between 14th and 15th Avenues, the lot is near the 55th Street subway station, served by the D train. 1457 53rd Street LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 55-foot-tall development will yield 12,659 square feet, with 9,620 square feet designated for residential space and 3,039 square feet for community facility space. The building will have ten residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 962 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and a 25-foot-long rear yard.
Eliyohu Schneider of Mey Associates is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
