New renderings have been revealed for The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Brooklyn Heights, a 15-story residential building at 98 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed in a joint venture between Marriott International and SomeraRoad, the project will convert the historic Hotel Bossert into 62 condominium units. The building will also contain a ground-floor restaurant by Danny Meyer. The property is located at the southeast corner of Montague and Hicks Streets.
The renderings by DBOX preview the restored Renaissance Revival exterior illuminated at dusk.
Earlier this month, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved the modifications, which include the addition of a 15th floor atop the roof, enlargement of the existing levels above the main setback, and the construction of infill on the rear elevation.
Originally designed by New York architecture firm Helmle & Huberty, the hotel opened in 1909 and catered to numerous celebrities, business leaders, and athletes over the years, including serving as the venue for the Brooklyn Dodgers’ 1955 World Series celebration. The building had sat vacant for over a decade before SomeraRoad acquired it last year for $100 million.
Residents will have exclusive access to benefits across Marriott’s portfolio through the company’s Residence Owner Recognition Program, ONVIA. A full list of amenities, aside from a 24-hour-attended lobby and dedicated residential services, has yet to be disclosed. The ground-floor restaurant, the first full-service Brooklyn eatery in Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group’s portfolio, will also provide private entertaining opportunities.
Residential sales and marketing are being led by Ryan Serhant’s SERHANT. New Development, with Ravi Kantha and the Kantha Team leading sales.
The nearest subway from the property is the R train at the Court Street station, which provides connections to the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains at the two Borough Hall stations.
Construction is expected to commence later this year, with completion anticipated in 2029.
