Renderings Revealed for Kimlau Square Redesign And Memorial Arch Restoration In Chinatown, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for the redesign of Kimlau Square and the restoration of the landmarked Kimlau Memorial Arch, a granite ceremonial gateway at the center of Chatham Square in Chinatown, Manhattan. Designed by architect Poy Gum Lee and dedicated in 1962, the 18-foot-9-inch granite structure is being restored by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, while a broader street and plaza realignment is advanced by the Department of Transportation under the Chinatown Connections project.

Three-Skyscraper Development with 3,950 Units Planned for 400-418 Eleventh Avenue in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Plans have emerged for two massive developments poised to transform the area north of Hudson Yards with as many as 3,950 housing units, including 1,185 affordable apartments. Led by Empire State Development (ESD) with designs by FXCollaborative, the project consists of Site 3HB, a 79-story, two-tower residential structure rising from a shared podium at 400 Eleventh Avenue, and Site K, a 68-story residential skyscraper with an abutting 36-story hotel tower at 418 Eleventh Avenue. Rendering Revealed for Phase Three of Alafia Affordable Housing Development in East New York, Brooklyn

A new rendering has been revealed for phase 3 of Alafia, a 27-acre, all-affordable, multi-tower master plan in the Spring Creek section of East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed in a joint venture between Apex Building Group, L+M Development Partners LLC, RiseBoro Community Partnership, and Services for the Underserved, the third phase will feature two new six-story residences yielding 273 affordable apartments at or below 70 percent the Area Median Income (AMI), and will be built to Passive House standards. Alafia sits directly adjacent to the Gateway Center and the 407-acre Shirley Chisholm State Park.

Designed by Marvel Architects and developed by the Bronx Pro Group LLC and non-profit organization Services for the UnderServed, Inc., the structure yields 169 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 60 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $30,446 to $126,240.
