Wood frame houses and vacant lots are slowly giving way to new construction on the short blocks between Bushwick Avenue and Broadway in southern Bushwick. Today, we have a look at one of those new developments – a four-story building planned for 30 Belvedere Street.
The 45-foot-tall structure will fill a vacant between Broadway and Beaver Street, a short walk from the Myrtle Avenue stop on the elevated J/M/Z trains. Its seven apartments will be spread across 4,674 square feet of residential space, yielding little units with an average size of 670 square feet.
Each of the lower floors will have two units apiece, and the top story will host a full-floor penthouse. Most of the apartments will come with private outdoor space, and the penthouse will have a private roof deck.
Beam Group and J Goldman Design are responsible for the rendering, which shows an offbeat mix of gray facade panelling, wood, green trim, and rust-colored metal panelling. The architects of record are North Riverdale-based BMG Design Build, and the developer is David Salem, doing business as an LLC based on Troutman Street. Salem’s LLC purchased the 25-foot-wide plot for $630,000 in May of 2015.

Vintage architecture all of the building, back to 1960 on stylish of pale color.
The misspelling on the building’s facade does not inspire confidence.

I have seen the street name spelled both ways.
