111 Murray Street Rising Into Downtown Skyline

The last time YIMBY checked in on the new 58-story and 800-foot tall tower coming to 111 Murray Street, the building was just creeping above ground level. Now, a little over two months later, the structure is already climbing past its 15th floor, with the latest update thanks to YIMBY Forumer Kevin LeClerc.

Kohn Pedersen Fox is designing the tower, which has seen some minor revisions to its design since YIMBY released initial plans back in early 2014. Thankfully, what’s rising appears to be significantly more appealing than one of the earlier concepts for the site, which featured a giant column topped by a spaceship lookalike.

With 15 floors already down, 111 Murray is about a quarter of the way to its eventual pinnacle, and rising quickly. The current pace is about 1.5 floors per week, which would put the tower on a pace to top-out next spring.

The building is being developed by Fisher Brothers, the Witkoff Group, and New Valley Real Estate, and will have 157 condominiums in total, averaging over 2,300 square feet apiece. While topping-out should occur next year, completion is likely for 2018.
