The tallest of nine structures comprising the Essex Crossing development, at 115 Delancey Street, has officially topped-out. The last time YIMBY reported on the site, it had just risen above street level, back in late January. The 26-story building will include 195 rental apartments, of which 98 will be affordable. Its developer, Delancey Street Associates, is comprised of BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners, and Taconic Investment Partners.
“This marks a major milestone for Essex Crossing because in many ways 115 Delancey is our centerpiece,” said Isaac Henderson, a Director at L+M Development Partners. “With mixed-income housing above and a 14-screen movie theater, new home of the Essex Street Market and the Market Line’s first phase below, 115 Delancey will be an exciting place to live, but also a valuable resource for the community and the city.”
The Market line will be a large bazaar-like marketplace along Broome Street, which is already a bustling corridor. The new retail will also sit adjacent to the the new location for the Essex Street Market, which has been a part of the community for 77 years.
Photographs show parts of the pre-fabricated façade rising during sunset. There are now less than a dozen floors left awaiting exterior finishing. Handel Architects is responsible for the design.
Construction is expected to wrap by the summer of 2018.

Very excited to see floor plans and photos of the units! Any idea when these will be available? I read that the project should be done by Summer 2018. Thank you. Regards!
