Permits have been filed for a 29-story mixed-use building at 221 West Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located between Freeman Street and Eagle Street, the corner lot is eight city blocks north of the Greenpoint Avenue subway station, serviced by the G train. Brookfield Properties is listed as the owner behind the applications, and is responsible for several other mixed-use properties in Greenpoint Landing.
The proposed 336-foot-tall development will yield 287,518 square feet with an allotted 8,616 square feet for commercial space. The tower will have 302 residences; it is unclear if these will be rentals or condos. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard. This building, along with 1 Eagle Street and 15 Eagle Street will occupy a full city block, bringing a total of 750 apartments to market as well as 20,000 square feet of indoor amenity spaces.
Carlos Cardoso of Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners is responsible for the design.
Demolition permits will not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

I think it will be rental, 300 apt for 280,000 sq ft, luxury rentals. So 1 Eagle is 39 stories, 15 Eagle is 6-7 story, and this one is 29 stories. The Edge of Williamsburg replica. Nothing wrong about that. Greenpoint deserves both lowrises and highrises well mixed on his skyline.
No affordables mentioned. I love how the 2016 7 Bell Slip has a side entrance separate building from one Blue Slip. 1BS entrance.in on the opposite side. Also love how the newbies use the patch of grass which is suppose to be for all to enjoy as an unofficial unfenced dog park. Poop all over they dont.pick it up! Off leash dogs are aggressive. No one monitoring it.
