The Department of Housing Preservation and Development has filed permits for four residential buildings at 83, 91, 93, and 95 Gateway Drive in East New York‘s Starrett City. Michael Gelfand of MHG Architects is listed as the architect of record for the four-story developments, which will be located adjacent to the Gateway Center shopping mall.
The first three of the proposed structures will be 65 feet tall, yielding 7,089 square feet with 6,642 square feet designated for residential space. 95 Gateway Drive will be 37 feet tall, yielding 7,317 square feet with 6,870 square feet allotted for residential space. All of the buildings will have eight residences each with an average unit scope of 830 square feet for the three identical buildings and 858 square feet for 95 Gateway Drive. 95 Gateway Drive will also have a 35-foot-long rear yard.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lots are vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced, nor have details on what demographics these affordable housing buildings will be targeting.
