Permits have been filed for a ten-story commercial and community facility building at 30 Thompson Street in Soho, Manhattan. Located between Grand Street and Watts Street, the lot is near the Canal Street subway station, serviced by the 1 train and the Spring Street station, serviced by the C and E trains. DHA Capital is listed as the owner behind the applications. Previous plans for the site include a condo project designed by Karim Rashid.
The proposed 134-foot-tall development will yield 48,041 square feet, with 26,144 square feet designated for residential space, 18,033 square feet of commercial space, and 3,864 square feet for community facility space. It is unclear how many units the masonry-based building will have.
Rogers Partners Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in October 2019. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

This terminology is frequently used here also for “steel-based” or “concrete-based” which is a bit confusing. Perhaps what is meant is masonry faced or concrete structure.
This is a delusional filing. Totally non-confirming with the zoning!
