Exterior work is wrapping up on The Hendrix, a 41-story residential tower at 331 Marin Boulevard in downtown Jersey City‘s Powerhouse Arts District. Designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve and developed by The Albanese Group, the 400-foot-tall structure will yield 482 units, 121 parking spaces, a 125-seat theater, and 14,000 square feet of amenities. Hatfield Group is the façade consultant for the project, which is alternately addressed as 184 Morgan Street and is bound by Marin Boulevard to the east, Morgan Street to the south, Grove Street to the west, and Bay Street to the north.
At the time of our last update in December, the construction elevator was still attached to the broad eastern elevation. This has been fully dismantled and the gap in the curtain wall has been filled in. Some finishing touches are still concluding, particularly on sidewalks and around the entrance to the multi-story podium along the southern half of the property. Only a small section of metal fencing and equipment remain, but should be removed in the coming weeks.

Several banners have been added around the lower levels announcing the new name for the property. The development was formerly known as “MGM Marin Boulevard.”

The base is quite well done. The tower is a total head-scratching mess.
I want to really like this building, as it has a very beautiful base, but the tower is just such a headache. All of the different offset colors and windows is not a good look.
Both of them are beautiful designed towers, wrapped on structure to show facade do up. I’m not ever thought that developers want unattractive property, so causes to metal panels very prominent: Thanks to Michael Young.
