The affordable housing lottery has launched for East New York Cluster Apartments, three three-story residential buildings with newly constructed units at 190 Essex Street, 221 Vermont Street, 581 Belmont Avenue in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn. Designed by Delacour, Ferrara & Church Architects, the structures yield a combined 42 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 36 units for residents at 30 to 70 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $100,870.
Amenities include pet-friendly policies, bike storage, shared laundry rooms, recycling center, on-site resident managers, and rear yard seating areas. Units come with air conditioning and smart controls for heating and cooling.
At 30 percent of the AMI, there are six units with a monthly rent ranging from $0 to $563 for incomes ranging from $0 to $43,230. At 40 percent of the AMI, there are three units with a monthly rent ranging from $0 to $819 for incomes ranging from $0 to $57,640. At 50 percent of the AMI, there are four units with a monthly rent ranging from $0 to $901 for incomes ranging from $0 to $60,050. At 60 percent of the AMI, there are 15 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,115 to $1,333 for incomes ranging from $43,098 to $86,460. At 70 percent of the AMI, there are eight units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,328 to $1,589 for incomes ranging from $50,400 to $100,870.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than November 25, 2022.
