A new immersive gallery experience, IMAGINARI, is making its debut exhibition, “The Insect World” at 200 Hudson Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan. A tenant of Hudson Square Properties, a joint venture of Trinity Church Wall Street, Norges Bank Investment Management, and Hines, the year-long exhibition will open to the public on Friday, April 26.

Fusing art, science, and entertainment, IMAGINARI is a hybrid gallery experience that gets up close and personal with insects. The inaugural exhibition features 6-foot-tall bees and flowers, a 12-foot-tall cherry blossom tree adorned with over 200 monarch butterflies, and a milkweed garden full of caterpillars. The gallery space showcases works from New York-based artists John Goodman and Bella Hatkoff, as well as Japanese fiber artist Yumi Okita, macro photographer Thilina Hettiarachchi, and more.

“IMAGINARI was meticulously designed to be an engaging and entertaining showcase of the natural world for children, families, and curious visitors of all ages to enjoy,” said Linda Uribe, founder of IMAGINARI. “We’re so pleased to open our doors to Hudson Square and all of New York, and we can’t wait to see what visitors discover when they arrive.”
The debut exhibit offers a 60- to 90-minute ticketed experience to the world of insects. Supplemental programming beyond the exhibition will occur on a rotating basis. Already scheduled is a floral design workshop by master floral designer John Goodman on May 11, there is also an upcoming beekeeping workshop, a panel on sustainable landscape architecture, and a chef-prepared dinner with an insect-inspired menu.

200 Hudson Street is part of the Hudson Square Properties’ portfolio of 13 office buildings with over 6 million square feet of commercial space, and represents the joint venture’s investment to unique experiences that contribute to the cultural fabric of the neighborhood.
