Construction has topped out on 65-25 Queens Boulevard, a nine-story affordable housing building in Woodside, Queens. Designed by Angelo Ng + Anthony Ng Architects Studio for 6525 Queens Blvd LLC, which purchased the property for $2.73 million in October 2020, the 95-foot-tall structure will span 23,861 square feet and yield 29 rental units with an average scope of 823 square feet. The project is alternately addressed as 42-78 65th Place and is located on a 3,210-square-foot parcel at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and 65th Place.

Recent photographs show the reinforced concrete superstructure built to its pinnacle and much of the exterior covered in scaffolding and black netting. Concrete formwork, metal shoring, temporary wooden railings, and other equipment line the upper levels, and rebar currently surrounds the mechanical bulkhead in preparation for the final concrete pour. Meanwhile, crews have begun to frame out the building with metal studs in preparation for the start of façade installation. Two stacks of large balconies protrude out from the floor plates on the narrow southern elevation facing Queens Boulevard, and two additional columns of smaller balconies are also visible on the wider eastern face of the building.

The main rendering posted on the construction board depicts the building clad in a mix of metal and woodgrain paneling surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows with black mullions on the southern and eastern elevations. The ground floor is enclosed in contrasting dark gray paneling, and glass railings line the edges of the balconies and multi-story roof deck.

A list of residential amenities has yet to be announced. The nearest subway from the development is the 7 train at the 69th Street station to the north along Roosevelt Avenue.

65-25 Queens Boulevard’s anticipated completion date is slated for autumn 2025, as noted on site.
