Scaffolding was recently removed at 827 Sterling Place, exposing the red brick facade on the seven-story residential development in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Known as The Eve, the new construction is developed by Haussmann Development and designed by Issac & Stern Architects. Leasing is expected to launch in March 2025 for April move-ins.

Comprising of 76 units in studios, one-, and two-bedrooms, The Eve offers spacious layouts, floor-to-ceiling windows, light wood finishes, hardwood floors, marble countertops, and in-unit laundry. One-bedrooms average 655 square feet, with ten units featuring a windowed home office. Two-bedrooms average 954 square feet, all of which include two bathrooms with double vanities.

Positively soul-less design and execution
If you look at the previous renderings, while still very restrained, looks like the brick depth got hit by VE very hard. All of these new brick buildings always show brick details with real depth, and then they get built with barely a 1/2″ difference between the two planes, which visually flattens completely when there’s any distance from the building. Surprised developers continue to think it looks ok and not obviously cheap.
At least they used brick
The interior is quite nice. The exterior looks like a seniors assisted living facility.
