The tallest residential building on Manhattan’s East Side waterfront, Sutton Tower, has officially crossed the $150 million mark in sales this year. The milestone places the 850-foot-tall skyscraper among New York City’s top-performing new developments of 2025. Designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen and developed by JVP Development and Gamma Real Estate, the limestone-clad tower is a standout in a market where design-forward, move-in-ready residences command demand.

“Achieving $150 million in sales this year is a testament to the extraordinary vision, quality, and craftsmanship that went into every detail of this project,” said Van Nguyen of JVP Development. “The market has responded enthusiastically to Sutton Tower’s combination of elegant design, desirable location, and unparalleled views, validating our commitment to creating homes that stand the test of time and reflect the way today’s homeowners want to live.”

Rising from the Sutton Place enclave meets the Upper East Side, Sutton Tower has become an instant architectural icon with its carved limestone façade and meticulous detailing. It was recently recognized by the BLT Built Design Awards for architectural excellence.

The building’s 120 corner residences span from one to five bedrooms, each with a minimum of two exposures and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the panoramic skyline and East River. Select full-floor and duplex penthouses feature private outdoor terraces with south-facing loggias.

Residential finishes include curved Statuarietto marble islands in the kitchens, ebonized oak entry doors, and primary bathrooms clad in Bianco Dolomiti marble, complete with radiant-heated floors and sculpted Laufen soaking tubs.

  1. Appreciate the indication of ad partner

    • Yimby always specified this to readers whenever they do these kinds of articles every now and then. It’s not something new.

  2. I’m in a fortieth floor penthouse/ blocks away
I enjoy seeing this building from my bedroom living room dining room and balcony
I turn my head and I see 432 park which is sort of a similar design but I don’t think Sutton Tower is going to disintegrate

  3. Michael where are the numerous negative comments in your description? Much has been written about, and many occupants of the building deeply regret purchasing an apartment there. This looks like you are sucking up to the management company. You can do better.

  4. This had to go through multiple discounts to get sold though. Nice building but not the best neighborhood in NYC and the initial price point was too high

Hurry, there’s a cramped 1 bedroom for just $2.5 million. Common charges and taxes are currently $3,000 every month.
    Hurry.

  6. Nice building but totally out of place in the neighborhood.

  7. The original design was terrific. The one they built is soul-suckingly dull.
