Construction is underway on JFK Park, an electric vehicle fast-charging hub in Springfield Gardens, Queens. Developed by Wildflower Ltd under the Wildflower JFK North LLC and operated by Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging, the facility spans 2.6 acres and will yield 38 direct current fast chargers operating 24 hours a day, each capable of delivering up to 400 kilowatts and equipped with both NACS and CCS cables so drivers of any vehicle brand can charge without an adapter. The project will also include a weather-protective canopy with incorporated lighting and seating.
The groundbreaking marks the start of construction on what will be one of the largest publicly accessible EV fast charging stations in New York City, capping a planning process that began in March 2024, when the New York City Economic Development Corporation selected Wildflower through a request for proposals to develop the city-owned parcel, known as the JFK North RFP Project. The Queens Borough Board and the City Council approved the disposition in July 2025, and Wildflower JFK North LLC closed on the site that December, paying $8.9 million for the land, according to property records.

The program has been refined since the original award, which called for an initial 65 EV-ready charging stations, including 12 rapid chargers, and public parking spaces. Plans now call for 38 DC fast chargers, and the site has been designed to accommodate future growth, with substantial electrical capacity to support expanding demand from electric vehicle drivers, according to the announcement.
JFK Park’s anticipated completion date is slated for late fall 2027.
