Alchemy Properties’ 35 West 15th Street – or 35 XV, per the project’s website – is beginning to sprout beyond the base, after a significant lull in upward momentum earlier this year. The upper levels of the development will contain the actual residences, as the base will be home to Xavier High School.
Once topped-out, 35 West 15th Street will rise 25 floors and 355 feet – as the website says, it will be a ‘skymark,’ given the lack of nearby buildings of a similar height. The closest companion in terms of size will actually be Walker Tower, which is one avenue to the west and three blocks to the north. Still, 35 XV will dominate the local neighborhood, guaranteeing long-term views for residents of the future building.
Completion is expected at the end of 2014, and 35 XV will offer a total of 55 residences.
