Seven-Story, 74-Unit Residential Redevelopment Tops Outs At 51 Jay Street, DUMBO

The residential redevelopment of the former three-story, 81,805 square-foot manufacturing building at 51 Jay Street, in Dumbo, has topped out, according to Brownstoner. The structure has been transformed into a seven-story building and now measures 135,658 square feet. Seventy-four condominiums units will spread across the majority of the building, measuring an average 1,815 square feet apiece, and 1,333 square feet of ground-floor retail is planned. The project includes six separate penthouses and is currently 75 percent sold with move-ins expected in mid-2016. Slate Property Group is developing is ODA Architecture is the design architect.

Construction Complete On Five-Story, Five-Unit Townhouse Project At 55 Pearl Street, Dumbo

Earlier this year, Brownstoner reported that construction was finishing up at Alloy Development’s five-story, five-unit residential project at 55 Pearl Street, in Dumbo, and now Dezeen has the latest photos of the completed building. The structure is actually broken up into individual, 18-foot-wide townhouse units, each measuring 3,500 square feet. The façade is made of concrete, wood, metal and glass, and the project reportedly sold out in 2013.


10 Jay Street

10-Story Office & Retail Conversion Now Planned At 10 Jay Street, Dumbo

Earlier this year, Glacier Global Partners received approval from the LPC to convert the 10-story former warehouse at 10 Jay Street, in Dumbo, into a 46 condominiums, but now the developer is planning a completely commercial building, with roughly 200,000 square feet of offices and retail spaces. The conversion will retain the approved exterior changes, which had been designed by ODA Architecture. CBRE is marketing the commercial spaces, according to The Real Deal.

Six-Story Commercial Conversion & Expansion Tops Out At 55 Water Street, Dumbo

The transformation of a five-story, 1860s-era warehouse into a six-story mixed-use commercial building is nearing completion at 55 Water Street, in Dumbo. According to Brownstoner, the structure’s sixth-floor addition has been constructed, and glass façade is now being installed. Dubbed Empire Stores, the building will yield 395,000 square feet of commercial space, which will be made up of offices, retail, restaurants, and exhibition space; rooftop gardens and outdoor public space are also featured.


181 Front Street

Foundation Work Underway For 12-Story Rental Building At 181 Front Street, Dumbo

In April, YIMBY noted excavation was underway at 181 Front Street, in Dumbo, where Megalith Capital Management and Urban Realty Partners are building a 12-story, 105-unit rental building, which will also have 1,490 square feet of retail on the ground floor. Now, foundation work is beginning, according to Brownstoner. The project also consists of the conversion at 200 Water Street, where 15 condominiums are planned, and Aufgang Architects is designing, with completion slated for 2016.
