New Rochelle‘s Industrial Development Agency will consider a new 23-story project located at 277 North Avenue. The tower will include a mix of market rate and affordable rental units above lower-level retail and an adjacent enclosed parking structure.
The development of a new 14-story residential high-rise has officially kicked-off in the downtown corridor of New Rochelle, New York. Located at 251 North Avenue, “The Standard” will partially repurpose an iconic, a historic, Neo-Classical structure that once housed daily newspaper The Standard Star.
When we last checked in on 587 Main Street in New Rochelle, New York, it was barely noticeable on the skyline, rising just six flights up. Now, thanks to photos by Nick Ramacciato, we can see that the structure has made substantial progress. Work is currently up to the 20th floor, out of a total 28. Façade installation has not yet started, though the angled shape of the building is easily visible. Paulus, Sokolowski, and Sartor (PS&S) are responsible for the architecture, and a fresh rendering also gives a better view of what the top floors will soon look like.
Last December, YIMBY reported on the groundbreaking event for a 28-story mixed-use tower rising in New Rochelle, Westchester County. Ten months later, we have a new rendering and updates from the site, at 587 Main Street.
New Rochelle has seen several new high-rises announced over the past few weeks, but in between the new towers, infill development continues to improve the burgeoning edge city. Yesterday, The Printhouse, at 165 Huguenot Street, broke ground. The building will have 71 rental units, seven of which will be designated as affordable, and will rise six floors.
