Brooklyn-based property owner Joel Berkowitz has filed applications for a seven-story, 16-unit mixed-use building at 236 Stagg Street, in East Williamsburg, located three blocks south of Grand Street stop on the L train. The structure will measure 23,496 square feet, and will include 3,307 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Residential units will begin on the second floor and should average 833 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. Amenities are set to include bike storage, an eight-car garage, and an 101-square-foot medical room in the cellar. Nataliya Donskoy’s Brooklyn-based ND Architecture & Design is the architect of record. The 4,658-square-foot lot is currently occupied by a single-story warehouse. Demolition permits have not yet been filed.

Flatiron District-based Rosin & Associates, headed by Max Rosin, has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 230 Boerum Street, in East Williamsburg, located three blocks south of the Montrose Avenue stop on the L train. The new structure will measure 5,553 square feet in total and its residential units will average 648 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. There will be two units per floors, although one of the fourth-floor units will feature a fifth-floor penthouse. Alexander Stoltz’s Brooklyn-based SA-DA Architecture is the architect of record. The 25-foot-wide lot is currently vacant.

Four-Story Multi-Use Commercial Building Revealed At 430 Johnson Avenue, East Williamsburg

Developer Astral Weeks is planning to build a four-story, 15,143 square-foot multi-use commercial building at 430 Johnson Avenue, in East Williamsburg, located three blocks from the Morgan Avenue stop on the L train. According to Brownstoner, the new building will feature 2,822 square feet in the cellar for retail or a restaurant, ground-floor parking that can be turned into an event space, and office space on floors two through four. VAMOS Architects is behind the design. New buildings applications have not been filed with the Department of Buildings, but the 50-foot-wide lot is currently vacant. Completion is expected in the beginning of 2017.
