RFQ Released For Riegelmann Boardwalk Reconstruction In Coney Island, Brooklyn

A Request for Qualifications has been released for the full reconstruction of the Riegelmann Boardwalk in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Issued jointly by the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, the solicitation seeks a progressive design-build team to rebuild the nearly century-old structure from the piles up, marking the first formal step in delivering the city’s more than $1 billion commitment to the waterfront. The reconstruction will replace the boardwalk’s structural piles, decking, and utilities along its full 2.4-mile length between West 37th Street and Brighton 15th Street, according to the documents.

Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 3565 3rd Avenue in Morrisania, The Bronx. Located between East 168th and East 169th Streets, the through lot is also addressed as 1256 Washington Avenue. The nearest transit is the Freeman Street subway station, served by the 2 and 5 trains. Construction is complete on Eight80 BK, a 19-story residential building at 880 Atlantic Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by EMP Capital Group, the structure yields 257 rental units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, with 65 dedicated to affordable housing. The project also includes ground-floor retail space. The property is located between Washington and Vanderbilt Avenues.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 293 East 207th Street, a four-story residential building in Norwood, The Bronx. Designed by Fred Geremia Architects & Planners and developed by Egris Haxhari of H20 LLC, the structure yields 11 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $76,595 to $122,160.

Rendering Revealed for 760 Clinton Avenue in Newark, New Jersey

A rendering has been revealed for 760 Clinton Avenue, a forthcoming four-story residential building in the Upper Clinton Hill district of Newark, New Jersey. Designed by OCA Architects and developed by Vancho Tolomanosi, the 23,884-square-foot structure will yield 24 rental units. The project, which was unanimously approved by the Newark Central Planning Board in July, will also include 1,866 square feet of ground-floor commercial space with two storefronts, and 23 parking spaces. The building will occupy around 6,750 square feet of the currently vacant property, which is located at the corner of Clinton Avenue and Leslie Street.
