Proposals for a new mixed-use residential development in Greenpoint, Brooklyn received a thumbs down from the local Community Board and the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC). As presented by PKSB Architects, the seven-story building at 171 Calyer Street would have comprised 70,171 square feet.
Permits have been filed for two mixed-use buildings at 16 West 18th Street and 21 West 17th Street in the Flatiron District, Manhattan. Located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the butting lots are a short walk to the 14th Street-Union Square subway station, serviced by the 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R, and W trains. Gary Vinbaytel of Vinbaytel Developments is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Located between Walton Street and Wallabout Street, the interior lot is a short walk to the Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the M and J trains and the Flushing Avenue station, serviced by the G train. Jay Fried of Yeshiva Beor Hatorah is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Construction kicked off this week on the Hudson Arts Building, a new office development at 220 Eleventh Avenue in West Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Studios Architecture and developed by The Moinian Group, the project will occupy an entire city block between 25th and 26th Streets. According to JLL, the exclusive leasing agent for the property, the Hudson Arts Building is expected to welcome tenants by 2022, and the official groundbreaking was held yesterday.
The steel and glass curtain wall is nearing the top of No.33 Park Row, aka Pearl on the Park, a 25-story residential building in the Financial District. Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and developed by Centurion Real Estate Partners and Urban Muse, the project stands 331 feet tall and will yield a total of 30 units with uninterrupted views of City Hall Park and the surrounding Civic Center neighborhood.
